Reuben writes:
Eight years ago—two key moments changed the course of my life for good.
- I first made contact with the Philippines and spent six unforgettable months learning & loving the culture, and (much to my surprise) beginning to feel the Lord calling me into the ministry.
- I met a girl, who is now my wife, who’d hoped & prayed, for as long as she had been a Christian, to devote her life to sharing the Good News of Jesus to Filipinos.
The Lord’s providence.
We have a shared desire to see Christ proclaimed.
Our very first conversation, and countless since, centred on this: We have a shared desire to see Christ proclaimed across this needy nation.
And here we are… eight years on, three kids later, and on a missionary journey that we believe God has been preparing us for since the moment we met.
As our friends know all too well, the Philippines has always had our hearts, specifically the need for gospel witness in Bulacan.
If we’ve learnt anything over the past year, it is that our lives are unpredictable and filled with unknowns. We cannot foresee the future, cannot envisage the inevitable hardships ahead, and cannot tell why God would call such undeserving people for such a momentous task.
But the pioneer missionary Hudson Taylor got it right when he said:
“Depend on it. God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”
Here is our prayer card. Feel free to print it out, share it round, and get in touch if you and your church might be interested in having us come to share a presentation.
